2025 Hawkeye Soccer is Underway

As the 2025 fall semester begins on the University of Iowa campus, so does the women’s soccer season. Expectations are high as the team tries to build on a successful 2024 campaign that saw the team compile a 13-2-3 record, an 8-2-1 record in Big Ten play, and a NCAA Tournament bid that culminated in defeating Georgetown and advancing to the second round.

After beating the #6 Arkansas Razorbacks in the season opener, the Hawkeyes, ranked #13 at the time settled in for a huge matchup at the Iowa Soccer Complex against #7 TCU.

The Hawkeyes prepare to take the field against TCU in a huge early season top 10 matchup against TCU.

In a beautiful late summer evening in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes fell to the TCU Horned Frogs 3-2. At the half, the score was knotted at 1-1, but the frogs controlled the ball much of the second half. TCU scored two more goals before the Hawkeyes could get back on the scoreboard.

On Sunday afternoon in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes played host to the favorites of the MAC, Western Michigan for a 1 pm tilt.

The Hawkeyes needed a quick bounce back from the defeat at the hands of TCU, but the Broncos proved to be a formidable opponent. This time, however, the Hawkeyes were able to control the ball for much of the game and secured the shutout by a margin of 2-0.
